Mt Lemmon Fire District provides structural fire protection to the communities of Summerhaven, Soldiers Camp and Willow Canyon. We also provide protection to other facilties including forest service, community camp buildings, University of Arizona structures and communications.

MLFD works with the USFS to fight fire on National Forest land surrounding the communities we protect. We provide severity patrol on forest land during summer months to help educate and prevent abandoned and unlawful fire from spreading.

Mt Lemmon Firefighters are certified to provide emergency medical interventions and transport patients to the appropriate transport agency, including air and ground ambulances.

MLFD personnel work with Pima County Sheriffs, Southern Arizona Rescue Association, and other fire entities to help rescue people who have become lost, injured or overexerted themselves.

We use rope systems to rescue injured and stranded individuals from moderate to high angle terrain.
